Can anybody recommend a good CRM package for us to use to track our sales leads?

I have a good friend who swears by act - although I think most people under use Microsoft outlook as a sales tool.

We have been using Outlook, but not totally happy with it? Was aware of Act by Sage but wanted to see what other people were using?

I am just about to purchase ACT.
If you do decide to but it, purchase the small business starter pack for some reason you get sage + payroll+act for the same price as you would pay buying act and sage on there own.

I got the best quote from this guy Simon Cardwell s.cardwell@sjsoftware.co.uk
it was about £165 inc vat.

What may you decide to use ACT, does it have any special features or easy to use, we need to monitor customers to see if they have an indoor or outdoor pools, plus are they interested in reducing their Utility bills?

I am familiar with the product I have installed and supported it in the past.

It is a gui based management tool its a bit like outlook on steroids you can add notes to each customer dictating indoor\outdoor pool, you can setup reminders for maintenance calls etc etc.

have a go on the demo and see if you like it or not?

Decided to get Act, very happy with it, already intergarated it with Microsoft Outlook and sending appointments to customers to confirm visits.

Lots to learn, but looks like its going to keep with the extra workload.

You could also get something like zoho-projects which is a project management software with CRM feature. But I'm not sure if it can be integrated with outlook.

I have used Sage ACT, Goldmine, Salesforce. I would recommend ACT.
