I think Socialist Politics, or at least in the UK are gone for good. The country as a whole is wealthier. The average working man has a car in the drive and a satelite dish on the roof. It may be on credit, and we are rightly or wrongly a lot more consumer driven and materialistic, but this has made a large centre ground, which all the parties are fighting over and trying to define.

UK Socialism to me is the dark Union controlled days of the 70's, "1 out, all out" and are hopefully over.
